Carthage is a small town with plenty of things to do. Highlights include the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame, Panola College, Lake Murvaul for outdoor recreation, and a charming historic downtown with shops and restaurants. Overall, Carthage is a hidden gem worth visiting for history, music, nature, and small town exploration.

Marshall

Marshall, Texas is a short 30 minute drive away from Dwell Camp. This historic city is famous for its cultural attractions and natural beauty. Visit the several museums in the city, tour the historical downtown, and enjoy the charming and friendly city. Marshall is also home to the Wonderland of Lights festival during the holiday season.

The Outdoors

East Texas is a beautiful region with plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation. Hiking, fishing, boating and camping are all possibilities. Caddo Lake National Wildlife Refuge, Lake O' the Pines, Lake Murvaul and Martin Creek Lake State Park are options near Carthage.
